A packaging manufacturing company was freezing a traditional defined benefit plan and replacing it with a new defined contribution plan. Participants in the defined benefit plan were given the opportunity to choose to stay in the defined benefit plan or transition to the defined contribution plan with a rollover lump sum paid from the defined benefit plan.
